Are your Afro Picks made entirely
of metal?
No. Only the most important part - the teeth (also
known as the tines or prongs) of the pick are metal. The teeth are round and the metal is polished smooth. The
handles are made of highly durable plastic. The FOLDING style, FAN and RAKE style picks are made of high impact
plastic.
Are your Afro Picks new or are they old store stock?
New! Our Afro Picks are most definitely brand spanking
NEW! We carry retro styles but our picks are not old store stock and they are not used. Be careful of what you
buy - old store stock and old vintage picks may be made of old inferior quality plastics or they may be more fragile
simply from age than new picks and they may break. Our Afro Picks are fresh stock made from modern plastics that
we obtain directly from the manufacturers & distributors.
What is your most requested Afro Pick?
The most requested pick has now become the FOLDING
style.
Which pick is best for my type of hair?
All of our picks can be used with any hair type.
All of our picks are perfect for creating Afros, creating lift, and separating curls. Which pick you choose depends
mostly on your own personal style and also on where you will be storing your pick. If you will be placing your
pick in a purse, bag, backpack or pocket we highly recommend the FOLDING style pick because the metal tines are
protected when folded.
What else can Afro Picks be used for besides Afro hairstyles?
Afro Picks have many uses. Afro picks are excellent
hair detanglers for wet or dry hair. Experts agree your hair is actually more fragile and more likely to break
when it is wet. There is no comb or pick that detangles wet hair better and more gently than a Metal Afro Pick.

Shipping Questions
How much is shipping?
Shipping costs vary from item to item. Most picks
ship for only 1.95 cents each. Prices increased in July of 2007 when the price of First Class mail parcels increased.
We use recycled paper and shipping materials whenever possible to help the environment as well as to keep shipping
costs low. Each item lists the shipping costs or will state that shipping costs are included in the price. When
you go through the check out process with PayPal the cost of shipping is immediately added to each item you put
in your shopping cart. We do not add additional shipping charges at the end of check out. The cost for shipping
outside the United States will be more. Most overseas orders are shipped via Global Priority Mail for about $7.00.
You must email us before placing your order if you want shipment outside the United States, U.S. Military addresses,
or Puerto Rico.
Can I get a discount on shipping if I purchase several picks?
Yes. If you plan to purchase 6 or more picks simply
email us before placing your order, tell us exactly what you want to purchase
and how many, and give us your zip code. We'll get back to you within 12 to 24 hours or less with a price quote.
Discounts on shipping only apply to orders of 6 or more picks shipped to one single address at the same time.
How do you ship?
We ship via First Class mail or Priority Mail through
the United States Postal Service (USPS). This means we can and will ship to PO Boxes. Most orders of only 1-3 picks
are shipped in a small brown wrapped package or a small envelope via First Class Mail. Orders of 4-5 picks or more
are usually shipped in a box via Priority Mail. Orders shipped outside the United States will most likely be shipped
via Global Priority Mail.
When do you ship?
We normally ship the very next business day after
payment is received. That rule holds true if you pay via PayPal with a credit card, United States Postal Money
Order, Cash, or Stamps. If you pay with a check or with a money order that was not purchased
from the Post Office we hold shipment until the check or money order has cleared the bank. This can take up to
10 to 14 days but usually only takes about 5 to 7 days. On extremely rare occasions we may have items back ordered
but this would only be a delay of a few days. If this happens you would be notified immediately of the delay and
given the choice to cancel your order if you prefer. Remember - customer satisfaction is our number one priority.
How long will it take for my order
to arrive?
That depends on what you ordered and where you
live. Most orders will arrive about 3-5 days after shipment. Some may take longer (Hawaii & Alaska, U.S Military
addresses, or outside the U.S. for example) and some make take only 1-2 days (if you are in New York or the Tri-State
area).
Will you ship to a Military address?
Yes, unlike many ebay sellers, we will ship to
all U.S. Military addresses. Just order as you would normally. Please make sure the address you give is one that
will not be defunked before your order arrives (military mail can take up to 4-6 weeks). We will also take the
time to ship following military mail rules - including filling out customs forms to help with smooth and quick
delivery.
Will you ship to Hawaii and Alaska?
Yes, of course we will. Unlike many ebay sellers,
we do not restrict shipment only to the "lower 48" states and there is no extra charge for shipment to
these two states. Please keep in mind that shipment is coming from New York. First Class shipment from New York
to Hawaii or Alaska may take longer than the standard 3-5 days.
Will you ship to Puerto Rico?
Yes, shipping to Puerto Rico is handled the same
way as shipping to any state in the U.S. Just order as you would normally.
Will you ship anywhere outside the United States?
We can ship to some overseas addresses on a case
by case basis. Extra shipping charges will apply as well as customs regulations. Contact us first, before placing
your order, if you are outside the U.S. When you email us be sure to tell us exactly what you want to order and
what Country you are in.

Can I get a discount if I buy
several picks?
Yes, we give discounts on orders of multiple picks
if shipped at the same time to the same address. This discount applies to orders of 6 or more of FOLDING style
picks. Discount amounts depend on the exact items ordered and how many total. Email us
for a special discount price quote and invoice one you've decided how many you need of what style. The discount
applies to the price of the picks as well as shipping costs.
Tell me about PayPal - do I have to have a PayPal account or a credit card to use it?
PayPal is a secure, fast and free way to make payment over the Internet using
any major credit card or checking account. Using PayPal
does not cost you anything (no fees) and you do NOT have to sign up for a PayPal account to use it. All you need is an email address. PayPal makes checkout quick and easy. PayPal
enables any individual or business with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments
online. PayPal is a global leader in online payment solutions with 64 million account
members worldwide and growing by 77,000 members each day. Available in 45 countries around the world, online retailers,
online businesses, as well as traditional offline businesses are transacting with PayPal. Again, you do not need to have a PayPal
account to pay someone with PayPal, but keep in mind that
if you have an account there are many advantages like being able to check out with just a few clicks of the mouse
AND PayPal now has online BillPay services as well as many other supplemental
services. We are PayPal Verified which means PayPal has taken steps to make sure we actually exist and have a bank account

How do I pay if I don't want to
use PayPal or if I don't have a credit card?
That's no problem at all. Simply email us with
your exact order and your zip code and we will send you an invoice by email. All you need to do is follow the instructions
on the invoice to pay by cash, check, or money order. We even take U.S. Postage Stamps as payment. See Terms
of Sale below for more details.
Can't I just send a check, why do I have to email first?
You must email us first so you know the exact amount
to pay AND so you know how to endorse the check or money order. We cannot accept checks or money orders unless
you've received an invoice first. You must also email us first to make sure the item or items you want are available
(we sell items other than Afro Picks and these items are mostly one-time-only specials). See Terms of Sale below for more details.

Can I return my pick if I don't
like it?
No, sorry, but we do not accept returns do to hygiene
reasons. Please be sure to read our Terms of Sale before placing an
order.
Can I return my pick if it arrives broken?
We have an "all sales are final" policy
which means there are no returns. BUT, if your pick arrives broken simply send us proof of damage (a photo or scan
of the broken pick) and we will send you another pick immediately. Please be sure to read our Terms of Sale before placing an order.
What are your Terms of Sale?
Our Terms of Sale are outlined at the bottom of

What is your email address?
| It is important to note that our email address for
correspondence is different from our email address for PayPal payment. We do not publish our PayPal payment email address on this website for security reasons, and because
we want to make sure customers contact us first before sending any payment so we can insure payment is correct.
Generally speaking, we do not need to publish our PayPal address because you will be taken directly to our PayPal
payment account when you click on a "buy now" button. However we do know there are times when a separate
payment must be made, so if you need to make a payment, simply email us and we will give you all the information

What is your physical address?
We are located in New York State, in the United
States. Due to security reasons we do not display out physical address on this website. This is not because we
are trying to keep it a secret from our customers, but simply to keep our address from being used improperly and
to keep from receiving unsolicted mail. We thank you for understanding. If you need to send us payment or contact
us by snail mail, simply send us an email with a request for our physical address. Also, it is important that you
do NOT send payment to our physical address without first receiving an email invoice or payment instructions from
